There’s a giraffe out your window 27 February 2008

Filed under: africa — Amber @ 12:58 am

And here was the best part of the day.

There is a teeny tiny office that used to be mine and now Wangeci is using lately. There was a window in the office that was closed up a few months ago because of a new elevator installation. So now the office feels even smaller and more evil. I told her I would put the window back up for her. I used this program to create the image from a photo I took when we were in Nakuru last summer. I’m going to print out a few more and change them up for her in a few weeks. Any suggestions of what would make a good window?

Lawrence of Arabia! 14 November 2007

Filed under: africa — Amber @ 3:58 pm

Oh Oh oh oohohohoho- they announced the dates.  I am taking the day off work to go see it.

Starts Wednesday, November 21st on
The Big Screen in Stunning 70mm Format!

Winner of 7 Academy Awards,
Including “Best Picture”

David Lean’s

(1962)

Starring:
Peter O’Toole, Alec Guinness, Anthony Quinn,
Claude Rains, Omar Sharif & Jose Ferrer

David Lean’s sprawling epic tells the biography of T.E.
Lawrence, a World War I British officer who requests a
transfer to Arabia, where he provides his worth to
Sherif Ali and helps lead his Arab tribesman into battle
against the Turks. Because he is smart and brave,
Lawrence is viewed as a leader and possible messiah
by the Arabs. He becomes allies with Prince Feisal
and Auda Abu Tayi during his trials and tribulations
in the desert, and his superiors grow concerned that
Lawrence’s allegiances are with Arabia, not England.

I’m not even kidding. Lawrence of Arabia.  On the screen at The Senator.
