August trip to NYC, day2

Posted by Amber on 4 October 2009

From the hotel we walked from Battery Park up through the World Trade Center site.  We met this nice bronze man- who James thought was a real bronze person pretending to be a fake bronze person- he kept waiting for him to move.

We hadn’t been to NY since 2002- so much has changed- but still so much construction.  As we were walking we met a man who was working at the site- he stopped James, who had one of his police shirts on, and gave him a rock from the site.  It was a really nice moment.

We took the subway to the Museum of Natural History- spent a few hours wandering around the museum and headed back to the hotel to pick up our car.  Jen finished her meetings, so we had a quick lunch before she headed out to the airport and we headed back to Baltimore.

August trip to NYC, day 1

Posted by Amber on 4 October 2009

We took a mini vacation in August to NYC because my sister Jen was in town for one night.

We drove up and picked her up from LaGuardia and made our way back from Brooklyn to her hotel in Battery Park- not very fun at 6pm on a weeknight.
